The Sands Of Arrakis

.... It's been a long time/ I shouldn't've left you....

Hello again!

My absence from this space has troubled me as of late, and I offer my deepest apologies. After some troubling online confrontation with BlackTokyo.com and their band of Negroid Asiaphiles, I decided absence form online discussion was the most profitable policy. I was utterly wrong, but I became accustomed to letting this place suffer without me.

Again, I apologize.

I just finished re-reading Frank Herbert's Dune, easily the most important science fiction novel of the modern era. Ecology, politics, mathematics, sociology, revenge - all have a dominant position within Herbert's masterstroke, accomplishing what few science fiction works ever hope to achieve - literature. The Art of the Written Word. If only we all were as skilled.

At any rate, my sojourn through the stifling sands of Arrakis has ended. Look for more substantive posts in the days ahead. And please forgive my untimely disappearance - there is never an opportune time for self-defense. Sometimes attacks cost you.
