Welcome to JamesLambJr.com, a creative outlet for the creative rage of James Edward Lamb, Jr., a recent product of Cornell University's College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Government. A political science major, my academic pursuits included philosophy, classics, modern English literature, and Western political theory, a veritable amalgam of traditional liberal arts. I hope to apply what I've learned in these fields in some capacity in the broad industries of politics and/or law one day. I'm about six feet, one inch tall, around 175 lbs. (Skinny. Really skinny.) I still reside in Ithaca, NY, bastion of decayed liberalism that it is, with the love of my life, Angel. She's the amazing web goddess who designed this place. Neat, huh?
Essentially, this blog exists as an attempt to resurrect writing in my life. Most bloggers molest their respective languages in weak, atrophied attempts at personal reflection and political revulsion. It's so weird -- regular people, going about their daily routines, maintain online diaries that fail to develop individuality yet succeed at cultivating uniformity like Orwell's Big Brother, an internal authoritarian who invades silently and gestates within our bodies, ourselves. Most bloggers allow their consistent perversions of Ridley Scott's psychotic parasite Alien, better known as bad writing, to feed on reader passivity as they explode their useless meandering upon the Net at consistent hourly intervals like so many bloody interstate traffic accidents of displaced cliches, overused sayings and meaningless meanderings. I despise most of the blogs I read, so I designed this site to do better.
Please take the time to peruse the pics, essay, and music sections. This space is more than simple text -- to immerse yourself in JamesLambJr.com, enjoy the multimedia aspects as well as the writing. Then check out the friends section to learn more about the beautiful people who brighten my world.
I tend to enjoy political pop culture opinion, reality television, hip hop music, comic books, personal essays, and provocative material of all sorts. My desire here is to apply my mind to whatever I can find. Leave comments, my friends! I live on your feedback. If I garner any reactions from you at all -- hate, love, anger, support, sympathy, lust, revulsion -- let me know. Your commentary is as appreciated as mine here, and I'm extremely egotistical about my writing. (Ask anyone.)
So, that's me. Everything else you'll learn from reading this stuff. Welcome.
And try not to get shot. Max Payne don't play.
